THE CREATIVE FOLKS IS A CREATIVE DESIGN PLATFORM BASED IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
This isn't your Grandmas kind of publishing site, we here at the Creative Folks are all about bright colours, a good sense of humour and visually exciting designs. We try not to take ourselves too seriously when it comes to our writing, and we are not professional journalists so please excuse us if the occasional pop culture reference slips in. We are however, serious about representing SA small and local businesses and designers.
We wanted to make a fun and interesting way for people all around the country to learn about the endless talent that 'little South Australia' has to offer, and as we all know, we have a lot of it - can I get an Amen up in here?! As creatives ourselves, we felt it was high time there be a platform to showcase work exclusively made from SA locals, so we went and made one.
South Australia has many creatives courses and degrees on offer, and every day people are learning new creative skills or becoming entrepreneurs. We want to bring you all the feel good stories of these people achieving their dreams and kicking butt while doing it.
Being a creative can often mean working from home, and can be quite isolating. Starting your own business or creating a project can be scary and overwhelming and at times can affect mental health in a big way. We want to create a community that encourages and supports one another where possible. We feel it is important to remember that not all your work has to be your best work.
As the great RuPaul once said "If you can't love yourself how the hell are you gonna love somebody else".
Now let the music play!
What We Do
We are a small team based in Adelaide and have a passion for supporting local and small businesses and a strong interest in creative design. We have one main goal, which is to create awareness of local designers and creators and showcase their work and stories through our website and social media platforms.
Want to get involved? That's great! We can't wait to hear from you and all about your latest project. Please get in touch by clicking the Contact button at the top of the page. Make sure to subscribe to our seasonal newsletters.
